Illustrating a short story called 'Remission' by Adam Mars-Jones.
The narrator who has been diagnosed with HIV, takes two lovers from a Lonely Hearts column whom he affectionately calls his two 'lions.' He uses them at different times of the day so they can never meet.
I've been drawing on an old book, hence the text in the background. Really lovely surface to work on, old paper.

There's something about the very top one that reminds me of the book House Of Leaves.
